Sweet ~ A Paper Mama Photo Challenge

Who doesn't love a good Paper Mama Photo Challenge? The theme this week is: Sweet. I looked through lots of pictures but settled on this one from Snowdrop's First Birthday {yes, this is from December 30, 2010, sorry!}. She just looks so sweet with that chocolate frosting mustache and chin-beard. {Aaaaaand, sorta funny too!}

Green ~ A Paper Mama Photo Challenge

~ Green ~

This is one of the pictures I took on Saint Patrick's Day! I wore the leprechaun costume when I was a baby (for Halloween); my mom made it! My grandma (dad's mom) made the shamrock dresses ~ you can't really tell from the picture, but the green spots on the dresses are shamrocks. :) 

These two dresses have been sent all over the country to our relatives on my dad's side. So many cousins have worn them! My aunt unexpectedly sent them to me in 2009! I was so excited to be "let in" on such a special family tradition. A cousin of mine is expecting her first baby later this year so I'm hoping it's a girl so I can send one out East to her so she can enjoy the family dress, too!

Easy Hairstyle! :)

I had no idea what to blog about today. I suppose I could tell you how Hubby offered to take the girls to school today so he could get my car an oil change this morning for me. {I know, how nice! He owed me though, so don't think he's just all chivalrous all the time & all.} And then how he called me from the school to say that school was closed for some CYY day {that part is important for later in this story} and he was taking the girls grocery shopping with him to get milk. The girls came home telling me that they didn't have "cool" today because the teachers were exercising, I think that's what they understood when my husband told them it was CYY day, lol!. And they picked me up a Starbucks on the way home. The girls wanted to buy it for me, after debating whether I'd rather have Mommy-Coffee or purple lollipops. You did good, girls, totally picked the right one! Although a purple lollipop would be sweet once in a while! :)

SO. Chelsey the Paper Mama posted about this really easy hairstyle this morning. I actually don't think this would have worked with my longer hair so I knew I had to try it! And I love it! I'm totally excited to have something new for my (new) hair repertoire! :) Here are some pictures!

{Notes: 1. I posted this even though in one pictures I have a double chin and my one eye is all wonky and huge. 2. I did not use bobby pins, I couldn't find any. So I used my daughters' clippy hair bows. They worked pretty fine, and I can imagine you could easily "garnish" this hairstyle with a fancy flower clip or hairbow from many fine etsy stores, or one you made yourself!3. This took me more than five minutes to do the first couple of tries ~ BUT ~ once I had the hang of it, my hair was already in place before I even knew I was finished! Easy Peasy! You can SO do this!}

{my Mickey Mouse inspired take on Paper Mama & Friends Hot Vliggity Vlog on Vednesday!}

Inspired by Chelsey, The Paper Mama, I shot my very first vlog this morning! She got the idea from Ashley at Ashley Getting Dressed and posted her (PM's) first vlog last week. Broadcasting Live {sort of} from my kitchen this morning with my bed-head smoothed down! Here is my Dialect Vlog, My Very First Vlog EVER, My Contribution to Hot Vliggity Vlog Vednesday! I hope you like it. It totally makes me nervous posting this but I'm doing it anyways! Here goes.... {ok, so my dishwasher starts going in the middle of this. sorry!}

I hope you enjoyed that! It was uncomfortable for me to watch. You're all gonna know what I sound and look like in real time. Weird... So. Anyways, I'll probably do this again because all in all, it's so much fun to laugh at myself! :) And I'm glad now that I have this record of Me. Looking forward to my next inspiration for a vlog post!

The Paper Mama Photo Challenge ~ Sparkly

This week the theme at The Paper Mama is "Sparkly". And the guest judge is the ever awesome and amazing Ashley Sisk! With three girls in my house, we have plenty of sparkle so this was a fun challenge for me. I decided to go with a picture from Snowdrop's First Birthday! She wore a Paper Mama Inspired Birthday Hat, made especially by moi! It was super easy and I used scrap paper I had leftover from Christmas Cards of 2007. It felt good to make something AND use up old crafty stuff.

I finally made some time to play around in Photoshop this morning while the girls are at school and Snowdrop is napping. One headache & one hour later I finally have edited a picture in Photoshop. (And figured out I had to resave it as a JPEG so I could upload it....) And I loved it! I had so much fun! And there is so much for me to learn. I'm excited for all the new year will bring. It's only Day 4, and so far I've done all my pictures for Project365, I've made a button, and I learned how to do something in Photoshop. This may be my most productive year yet!

I took this photo in January of this year when my daughter was ten days old. It was luxurious to revel in the 'free time' I was enjoying with having only one newborn baby to take care of ~ I was in a daze at this point with the twins!! I love this picture of S's little feet, almost lackadaisily (did I spell that right?) propped up as she lounges on our bed for an afternoon doze.
