{the ceilings on our first floor are in excess of 19 feet high. the staircase, to the second floor, has too many steps. this is merely a shot of half of them. remarkably, we've only two incidents of children falling down them. and even then, they only went halfway! yikes!!!}

Scavenger Hunt Sunday ~ January 16, 2011

I'm SUPER excited that I managed to scavenge for pictures TWO Sundays in a row! I'm on a roll. ;) I struggled today a little bit, I really wanted to pull from my archives. BUT. I. Didn't. And I managed to get my pictures anyways. I'm really not crazy about the "Half" picture I took today. Meh {shoulders shrug}, I just don't like it. I immediately thought of my very best friend, my sister from another mother, and my very true other half. But she lives 300 miles away. So... I couldn't really hop on over to her place {much to my chagrin} and snap her portrait. Oh well. I LOVE my abstract picture. I actually took it last night, at the very ripe time of 11:50pm, but I'm using it today for SHS because even though I didn't take it this morning it totally works for abstract. {It's also my Day 15 picture so act surprised when you see it on Friday... two birds, one stone, and I'm feeling good!}

I feel really stupid about what happened yesterday with my Seen & Heard post! I really need to remember that when I draft something and then publish a few days later, that it's gonna publish on the draft date instead of the date I'm actually publishing. I was excited to begin. Oh well. Ooh, and one last random. My camera has been set on the wrong time for... who knows how long! I went to take a picture last night for Day 15, but when I turned on my camera, it said it was January 16th. I think it has something to do with Daylight Savings Time, but I'm not sure. No big deal, I fixed the time. But of course, the OCD in me is now going nuts that our pictures are timed wrong. I know ~ I'm a lunatic.

Shoot N Tell Thursdays ~ Looking Up

This week the theme for Shoot~N~Tell Thursdays is Looking Up! I've got plenty of pictures of the kids looking up but... I wanted to branch out a bit and post a picture of something other than my kids. A little variety is the spice of life, right? My entry this week is a picture of Uncle Dan. He's one of my husband's best friends, he is godfather to our firstborn, he introduced me & Hubby, he was one of our groomsmen, and his firstborn was born two days after our thirdborn... and until he had a child of his own, he'd tag along with us and carry our diaper bag, push our stroller, and more or less be our "manny". He is a great friend and truly like a brother to us (and especially Hubby who is an only child). I took this picture during July Fourth celebrations at Hubby's parents' lakehouse. It was just the three of us (me, Dan, and Hubby) out for a cruise around the lake. I love this picture for a million reasons but mainly because it exudes Dan's love for life, pride of being American, and his generally awesome attitude!

PS. My editing included: the watermark, sharpening/reducing noise and cropping. It's an almost SOOC shot! :)
