Giveaway at Grosgrain!!

Grosgrain is hosting another awesome giveaway!!!

This time, it's for a Shabby Apple swimsuit. They are so classic, retro, just so cool!!!! My favorite is the Isola. It's turquoise and has these lovely ruffles that go down over the chest. {Ok. That sounds really ugly but it's gorgeous in the picture AND the ruffles would totally boost my lack of boobage.}

Head on over to Grosgrain for your own chance to win an awesome swimsuit. Or don't, and give me a better chance. ;) Hahaha.
Only kidding. {<---name that book}

If you don't already follow Grosgrain, Kathleen shares SO MANY awesome crafty ideas, tutorials, and tons of pretty stuff that she finds online all the time. Check out her blog sometime! :)

Quick Giveaway Post!

There's another giveaway over at The Paper Mama ~ how awesome is she? This time it's for a gift certificate to Sissy Little ~ that really awesome shop that sells vinyl wall decals like these. The trees are my favorite! I'd put them in our room behind our bed. We don't have a headboard and I think they'd look really awesome in our room.

How many times can I say 'awesome' in this post?

I also really like the alphabet wall decals. Those are cool & I love alphabets. :) Totally would have done this in Snowdrop's room had I seen them when I was pregnant ~ they are awesome! I just love 'em. :)

Head on over to The Paper Mama for your own chance to win. Or don't, because then I'll have a better chance at winning. Muahahahahahaha! Just kidding! Go over there! :)

A Company Review, Part Two AND The Giveaway!!

{Read Part One of The Company Review HERE.}

And she did appreciate the hand-written note. I received a typed (but hand-signed) letter that was specifically written to me. No templates; she sat down and wrote to me. Truly, excellent customer service. Sent from the Big Apple as a replacement: One Musical Bunny AND she also sent this very adorable Rattle Doll! {see below} I was NOT expecting that at all! I like to think it had something to do with my handwritten note. Perhaps she sent a replacement AND an apology gift. Either way, it was really sweet of her to do it.

Here are the Bunny and the Doll.

It's very cute and about the same size as Giraffey. I would say it's really a good replacement.
And just between us (ha), Snowdrop doesn't really care much for the Bunny. Poor thing. I keep trying but she's really stuck on that Giraffey (remember, we still have the one I fixed!). One of these days I am sure she'll love it. Her sisters have enjoyed playing with it so far, so at least someone likes it! I think Snowdrop is confused that it plays the same song as her Giraffey. Ha!
One more thing: So remember how I mentioned we bought a second one of these giraffes? So the SECOND Giraffey also busted at the seam in the same spot, after we received a replacement gift. I haven't called the toy company about this one... overkill, right? I was able to sew it up after careful consideration and now I think it's safer than it was before. I don't know. Maybe I SHOULD call and let them know a 2nd one is defective. Opinions on that?

While I'm very happy to have gotten a replacement for Giraffey #1, we don't really need the extra gift of the Doll. So I'm Passing It On, in form of a Giveaway! Why? Because it's so FUN to host giveaways!
She really is cute, soft, and perfect for a baby girl. Especially because she rattles!

So tell me in the comment section:
Do you buy extra "Lovies" just in case something happens to a favorite?

A random commenter will win this very adorable, and soft, baby doll! It was not the intention for Prestige Toys to have me give this away but I thought it was good to Pass It On to a little girl who might need it more than my third daughter {who has access to any number of dolls and stuffed toys}. It might also prove useful as a prop for any of you photographers out there! Only one entry per person please! Comments will be open through the end of this week!

Disclaimer: Prestige Toys did not sponsor this giveaway. They are in no way part of this. They don't even know about it! I am doing this giveaway by my own desire to do so. Part of the "Pass It On" that 2011 has become for me. I don't do legal jargon very well. But you get the idea. :)

Giveaway at The Paper Mama!!!

The giveaway is for a super cute Rosette Headband from the PSCutehairbows shop at Esty!
The rosettes with gems in the middle aren't really my style but I am LOVING the ones with the buttons! And at $2 each, they are very affordable! I might even share them with my girls... if I'm feeling nice. ;)

Go to the Paper Mama and enter for your chance to win a Rosette Headband of your very own! :)

A Company Review, Part One. {Prestige Toys}

If you have read either of my blogs, you know that I'm a fan of sharing about my customer service experiences. Especially when it comes to children's products. Most of time, these posts are filled with complaints about poor service, products, customer handling, etc. But to be fair, I like to toot the horns of the companies that do a good job, too!! :) It's just as important to be told you're doing a great job, as it is to be told that things aren't working out. This is such a day. :)

I had to phone Carters and Prestige Toys about a month ago because one of Snowdrop's favorite toys had broken. It's this pink giraffe that plays Brahm's Lullaby. It's my favorite lullaby and definitely a go-to when it comes to humming for my babies. We play Giraffey for Snowdrop when we're putting her down for bed. ANYWAYS, so I grabbed her after a nap one day only to discover that the pull part had broken and exposed the insides, which to me looked "jimmied". I mean, that's the only way I could describe it. Definitely not the way I thought the inside of a baby toy should look. And Thank God Snowdrop was okay and there was nothing to choke on.

This is Giraffey.
Snowdrop fell instantly in love so she had to come home with us from Target one day.

And then she broke. {Please excuse my alien hand.}
And I'm sorry but has that cord been "jimmied"?
Wouldn't you believe it, I place a call to Carters and.... SOMEONE PICKS UP THE PHONE. I stuttered over my words, then apologized and thanked her for picking up the phone. She laughed that she hears that all the time! Even PBK (my favorite company for customer service dealings) has an automated system to patch you to the right person. I was impressed. So I told her our problem and she informed me that she'd need to transfer me to the company that makes the toys.

I was a little irritated by this passing around (just the idea of it) but they were really fast at the transfer and helpful and nice. So that made up completely for needing to phone another company myself when the transfer didn't go through. No biggie. I can do that. I had to leave a message but they got back to me that same day.

Prestige Toys. A very nice older lady {well at least she sounded pretty old!} was very helpful. She listened to my story and asked me to send the toy back. Aw. I was a little sad. I remembered the day I bought this toy with Snowdrop in the store. {And then remembered how I had to buy another one a little down the road when we thought we lost her. I found it at a discount store. And then I found the original one like a week later. Haha.?}

Anyways, so she sent me a postage-paid envelope in which to send the toy back. A+ service right there!

So Long, Giraffey. It's been fun.
Off to the Big Apple!
So I sent the toy back with a handwritten note-card of thanks for her help. I know someone of the older generation, certainly a "New York City Woman" would appreciate the formality, sincerity, and old-world fancy of a handwritten note.
And off Giraffey went on an adventure to the Big Apple, sadly never to return. You, however, will have to come back tomorrow to see what she sent me... and to check out The Giveaway I've been promising.

A Giveaway!!!! My First!!!!

Merry Christmas Eve Eve!!
I have a giveaway!!!! Okay, it's totally NOT as cool as it sounds. I've won a couple giveaways over at Buried in Laundry . It's so much fun to win!! I've also entered lots of giveaways at other places, and not won a thing at all. But it's still fun to play!! And it always feels good to give back.

The Prize? Honestly, I got it for free. But we don't really need it! It came in some kids thing... it's a Fisher Price Little People "Discovering Your Neighborhood" DVD, Volume 11. There are five little episodes and the whole DVD is 25 minutes long. Not super long, but long enough to throw some dishes in the dishwasher, right?

How do you win? Answer one simple question! Now for a question...question...question...Oh! I know!!

"What are your plans for New Years Eve?"

Will there be a Pink Elephant in your future? An early night to bed? A kiss at midnight? Tell me your plans and you are automatically entered to win!

My plans? I hope there will be a very very very very small pink elephant in my home that evening (a champagne elephant), but mainly it will just be a relaxing night at home. (<-- Hope I'm not jinxing myself into a disasterous evening by writing that ... haha!) I'm making a fancy dinner (something like a roast chicken and mashed potatoes and asparagus) and after the kids go to bed, we're gonna rent Eclipse with our DirecTV free rental credit (my husband is obsessed with the Twilight series, I just hope I don't die of boredome before midnight... I say that half jokingly.) and then watch the Dick Clark NYE Special... or whatever happens to be on around midnight!

The giveaway ends at midnight on Dec 30th! I'll announce the 'weiner', haha i just love saying that, the winner on January 1, 2011 ~ thus marking the beginning of my dedication and resolution to keep up on this blog!!! A winner will be chosen at random from the comments; and I will use Random.org to choose that winner! Good luck to all!!! :)
*be sure to include in your comment, a way for me to contact you - or as long as I can find it on your blogpage, link up your blog!

disclaimer: Fisher Price did not provide me with this DVD for a giveaway, nor have I been paid or supplemented in any way to do this giveaway. I just want to do something nice for someone, and pay it forward.

the paper mama ~ baby legs giveaway!!

The Paper Mama

I'm blogging about the giveaway over at the paper mama! The blog has quickly become one of my favorites and she's giving away a pair of Baby Legs Leg Warmers. These things are SO cute! My baby is eight months old now and she's on the brink of crawling! I think leg warmers would help keep her legs nice and un-bruised... or at least less bruised from clammering over the wood floors. :)

So pick me, pick me random comment number generator!!! I'd really love a pair of Baby Legs for my Baby! :)
You want a pair for your baby? Go on over to www.thepapermama.blogspot.com and enter to win! Or don't, so I have a better chance. ;)

(And, Thanks Paper Mama & Baby Legs!!)
