Trendy Treehouse Shutter Love Tuesday ~ A Story in Pictures

ShutterLoveTuesdays

My beloved Papa died of cancer in January of 2008. These pictures were taken the night before he died. We went to visit with him at the nursing home. He was having a moment with my daughter, J, and I snapped away. I don't know that there is much more of a story to it than a great-grandfather whispering sweet nothings to his tiny little great-granddaughter... wishes for all the happiness in the world & a long and successful life.

  2. visiting from shutterlove tuesday... love these. It almost made me tear up thinking about the life experiences of your grandfather, and the new life just beginning with your daughter, and for those moments, they were so connected. What great photos to treasure.

  3. Wow, these are such touching photos. We recently lost our dear mom (to cancer also). Just before she died, she got to see her new little great grandson. It was a blessing to her. Thanks for sharing.

    Warmly, Michelle

  4. Thank you all for the lovely comments. It was nice to share these photos rather than glancing at them every time I open up my picture files. :) It's always comforting to know that there are others who have shared moments such as these with their families, sad as they may be.
